One possible version:
A heated debate has been held on whether weshould make it illegal to text while crossing the street or not. Opinions varyon this topic.
Some people agree with the idea that safetyis more important than texting. Many people have ended up in hospitals withinjuries resulting from walking while using a mobile device. For example, oneperson drowned in a canal because his mind was on the phone.
However, some people think it doesn'tmatter. As humans, we are in charge of ourselves and can make our owndecisions. People don't need the government to babysit us. Though people mightget hurt from texting while walking, we should have a choice.
As for me, I'm in favour of the previousone. Compared to texting, there's no doubt that safety is the most importantthing.
